Spring Inking

Last night I had this idea for a story pop in my head when I was laying down to go to sleep. I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I had to wake up and sketch out a handful of characters for it.

Today I tried to refine one of them. The idea for the story was in comic form, so I tried to do a comic-book ink. I haven't really done this since college, and never really tried digitally. So it was fun.

Around an hour, was going for more of a "real girl" look than most comic book heroine's look.

Blowing the Cobwebs off

So tonight I cancelled my account for Star Wars the Old Republic. Fun game, but I've realized after far too long that I can't accomplish the goals I want for myself as an artist and play any sort of MMO.

Did a quick and fairly lame sculpt tonight, but felt good to get back to it. 30 minutes, dynamesh.

blood for the blood god

A few of us at work have been getting back into painting mini's again. It started with a 10 man dreadfleet painting contest, then we are trying for a longer term thing. Personally I'm trying to get my Warhammer 40k Chaos Army finished.

I finished my first new squad I will be proud to put on the table. Khorne Bloodletters.

The photo's aren't great, still need to learn how to shoot minis, but I've been having fun.

And yes, I do know how much of a nerd I am.

Something for Nothing

Bad day all around today. Was in a miserable mood tonight, so decided to just draw something without it being for anything. Not for work, or as a study, or a contest. Just a drawing to get some of the blahs out.

Bela Lugosi's Dead

Quick painting for a GameArtisans contest. Do a portrait of a horror character like an old fashioned portrait.

I did Bela in one of rembrandt's poses, I tried to do brushwork like Frans Hals, but don't think I nailed it.

Comicon 2011 DONE!

Finished and submitted with half an hour to go. I'm pretty happy, think it's better than my last model, which is always my goal for these.
